India developing vaccine for coronavirus

NEW DELHI: World nations are trying to develop a vaccine to prevent the Covid-19 virus, which has spread worldwide. The first version of the vaccine was developed in China, the United Kingdom and the United States and has begun testing on humans. Covid-19 vaccine has been developed in India. The first vaccine in India was developed by Bharat Biotech as COVAXIN.

DCGI has been granted permission to test the vaccine in humans. This vaccine can be tested in humans in stages I and II. The vaccine is expected to be tested in humans starting July.

The Bharat Biotech vaccine was developed in collaboration with the Indian Council for Medical Research and the National Institute of Virology, Pune.

While several companies, including pharmaceutical companies in India, are developing the vaccine, Bharat Biotech has taken the first step in this field. Testing in humans is a crucial task. If successful, India will be able to make history by launching the vaccine later this year.
