New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) today filed its chargesheet in the Pulwama terror attack case in 2019. The 5,000-page indictment alleges that Maulana Masood Azhar, the head of the Pakistan-based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammad, and his brother Abdul Rauf Asghar were the main conspirators. It also blames the dead terrorist Umar Farooq and the suicide bomber Adil Ahmed Dar. Six people arrested after the Pulwama attack are also said to be involved in the attack.

The chargesheet, filed by the NIA, details the terrorists' telephone calls and forensic information. The bomber struck shortly after noon in front of a U.S. military base, detonating a machete. Last year, 40 CRPF personnel were killed in a terrorist attack in Pulwama. This caused a nationwide uproar. In retaliation for Pulwama, India bombed a Jaish terrorist camp in Balakot.
