With the approval of the President, the Ministry of Human Resource Development officially became the Ministry of Education

New Delhi: With the approval of President Ramnath Kobind on Monday, the Ministry of Human Resource Development has been officially renamed the Ministry of Education.

The proposal to change the name of the Ministry of Human Resource Development to the Ministry of Education was approved by President Ramnath Kobind, the Gazette said in a statement on Monday. "The Ministry of Education has been renamed the Ministry of Human Resource Development," the statement said.

It may be recalled that the proposal to change the name of the ministry is one of the many changes made in the National Education Policy Letter. The proposal was passed at a cabinet meeting in July.

When Rajiv Gandhi was the Prime Minister, in 1955, the Ministry of Education was renamed the Ministry of Human Resource Development. The National Education Policy, which was enacted on the 16th, was last amended in 182. Rajiv Gandhi appointed PV Narasimha Rao as the first Minister of Human Resource Development.
