International flights from UP’s Kushinagar airport before Diwali, announces CM Yogi

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday announced that the international flights from Kushinagar airport will start by Deepawali. He said this entire region is part of ‘Buddha Circuit’ and this facility will increase the inflow of foreigner tourists.

He said there is immense potential of tourism in this region hence the officials are being directed to prepare an action plan in consultation with the public representatives. He also declared to celebrate the centenary of the Chauri Chaura movement with fanfare.

Action plan for permanent solution of floods in Eatsern UP

The Chief Minister directed to make an integrated action plan to evolve a permanent solution to the nagging flood menace in the Eastern part of the state. The rivers coming from Nepal dumps garbage in the rivers of this region. He asked to resort to dredging of UP rivers of this region to extract dual benefit- relief from floods and availability of sand which will fetch revenue for the district administration.

The Chief Minister was reviewing the development projects of Gorakhpur division comprising Gorakhpur, Deoria, Kushinagar and Maharajganj. The public representatives of all the districts were present in the meeting presided over by the Chief Minister through Video Conferencing.

The CM had interaction with them and received direct feedback about the development works in their respective constituencies.

House-to-house water supply in every JE-affected village

He said that his government has controlled the Japanese Encephalitis (JE) and Acute Respiratory Syndrome (AES)  to a great extent . He said that pure water is the key to effective control on JE and other communicable diseases. ” Make a project for house-to-house water supply in every JE-affected village,” he said.

Expedite work on AIIMS and Fertilizer factory of Gorakhpur

The Chief Minister asked to expedite work in the under-construction AIIMS and HURL Fertilizer factory in Gorakhpur at the earliest. The AIIMS in Gorakhpur will augment the health services not only in Eastern Uttar Pradesh but in the entire state. He was informed that the fertilizer factory will be commissioned by July, 2021. He also noted that the Intelligent Traffic Management System and Urban Streetscape of Roads and Junction Improvement Project are on the fast track in Gorakhpur.

He also asked to speed up Sewer Projects under AMRUT scheme in Varanasi, Jaunpur and Ghazipur. The construction and beautification of parks is being taken under AMRUT scheme as well and 15 parks

The CM pointed out that the under-construction Gorakhpur Link Expressway project to be linked to Purvanchal Expressway will change the economic face of the region.

Maintenance of the timeline of all the projects

Emphasising on the quality of work and maintenance of the timeline of all the projects, he pointed out that any delay in the developmental works unnecessarily escalates the project cost. Every project should be undertaken on a fixed time-line while observing all the quality norms. He said to achieve timely completion of the projects, it is extremely important toward work to such agencies which have sufficient manpower and capacity to execute the work ontime. He said that the utilisation certificate should be made available after completion of 75 per cent of the work so that the remaining funds may be released timely.

Describing ‘Atma nirbhar Bharat Yojana’ as a unique scheme, the CM said that there is unlimited scope to improve the basic infrastructural framework of agriculture under this scheme. The CM said that the public fund is the hard earned money of the citizens hence guard against misutilisation of the funds.

Conservation of water bodies

He said that the money meant for development should not be used elsewhere otherwise it will invite stringent action from the government. Generate jobs under MNREGS work and accommodate migrant labour as much as possible. He also directed to conserve water in every possible way and there is an urgent need to revive and conserve natural water bodies, ponds and wells.

He asked the officials to make serious and sincere efforts to collect more revenue since the money collected as revenue is the base of the development. The DMs should review department-wise GST collection every fortnight.  The Chief Minister sought to remind that One District One Product (ODOP) is an ambitious scheme of the government. “Do not spare any effort for improving, showcasing, marketing and branding of the products of the districts which come under the scheme,” he directed.

Growth of MSME

The Chief Minister laid stress on the hundred percent Geo-tagging of toilets constructed under PM Awas Yojana, CM Awas Yojana or Swacch Bharat Mission. He said that the district level bank committees should work towards the growth of MSME units through loaning.  The lead banks should also be involved in this.


Asserting that the effective surveillance system and contact tracing can save many lives from Covid, the CM said the mass awareness at every level is necessary till the vaccine comes in the market.  All precautions have to be maintained for at least six months.
