Supreme Court Hearing On Petition Of Face India MD Against Summon By Committee Of Delhi Assembly

The Supreme Court on Wednesday heard a petition filed by Facebook India vice-president Ajit Mohan against a notice issued by the Peace and Harmony Committee of the Delhi Legislative Assembly. The Peace and Harmony Committee of the Delhi Assembly had issued a notice to Facebook India in the Delhi violence case.

During the hearing, the apex court issued a notice to the Delhi Legislative Assembly and the Center on the petition of the Facebook vice-president for issuing summons to testify on the Delhi riots. The court ordered no punitive action against the Facebook vice-president until 15 October. The court will next hear the case on October 15.

On 12 September, the committee decided to call Facebook India vice-chairman and managing director Ajit Mohan. The committee, headed by Raghav Chadha, after examining the evidence and record material submitted by the witnesses, took this decision to ascertain the veracity of the allegations leveled on Facebook.
