Mortal remains of Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan being taken to his residence from AIIMS, last rites in Patna on Saturday

New Delhi: Mortal remains of Union Minister and LJP leader Ram Vilas Paswan will be brought to his Janpath residence in the capital on Friday and then flown to the party’s office in Patna in afternoon. Cremation will take place in Patna on Saturday.

The LJP leader passed away on October 8.

Paswan was admitted to the Escorts hospital, Delhi from the past one month, since the last couple of days his condition had remained critical, and he also underwent heart surgery.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced the national flag will fly at half mast in Delhi and capitals of all states and union territories on Friday as a mark of respect to Paswan. A state funeral will also be accorded to the Union minister.

Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) founder Ram Vilas Paswan passed away at the age of 74 on Wednesday. His Son Chirag Paswan broke the news on his Twitter handle. Paswan recently underwent heart surgery in Delhi. He has served as the Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution in central government.
