CoWIN app for COVID vaccination: Know when, how to register

New Delhi: PM Modi on Saturday launched India’s vaccination drive against the novel coronavirus. Billed as the world’s largest vaccination program, covering the entire length and breadth of the country, the drive aims to first inoculate millions of its healthcare and frontline workers and reach an estimated 3 crore people by the end of its first phase.

The Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Dr Harsh Vardhan has informed citizens about the Co-Win platform that will be used to monitor the vaccination drive in the country.

In his Tweet, Dr. Harsh Vardhan said that the digital platform will help the government in enabling the world’s largest vaccination drive.

Co-Win comes with 5 different modules:

  1. Administrator module
  2. Registration module
  3. Vaccination module
  4. Beneficiary Acknowledgement module
  5. Report module

This all is done just to ensure smooth tracking and registration for COVID-19 vaccine in the country

The mobile app is also an upgraded version of the eVIN (Electronic Vaccine Intelligence Network) and it will be available to download for free via the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. The app may also launch on Jio phones that run on KaiOS.

How can you register for vaccination?

1. You will need a photo identity in this process.

2. Fill the beneficiary registration, which will help to send the SMS to beneficiaries and will also generate QR-based certificates after one gets vaccinated.

3. Next, AEFI reporting part will take place that is going to report how many vaccine sessions have been conducted.

4. The Dashboard/ Report part will give you all the data of your information and will tell your status that you are vaccinated or not.
