Balangir, May 30, 2020 – The Balangir district of Odisha has reported a significant spike in COVID-19 cases, with six new positive cases confirmed today. All six individuals had recently returned from Mumbai and were found to be positive in the Bangumunda block, specifically in the Biripali village.
This new development brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the district to 62. Of these, six individuals have successfully recovered and have been discharged. However, 56 people remain active cases and are currently receiving treatment or are in isolation.
District Collector of Balangir issued a statement confirming the new cases and urged residents to continue following safety protocols, including social distancing and mask-wearing. Authorities have increased efforts to trace contacts and are implementing stricter quarantine measures to prevent further spread of the virus, especially among those returning from other cities.
Health officials have set up additional testing facilities and quarantine centers to accommodate the rising number of cases. With more people returning from high-risk zones, the district administration remains vigilant, emphasizing the importance of early detection and isolation.
