Washington : A Chinese professor who was doing research on Corona was shot dead in the US.
Dr. Bing Liu (age 37), an assistant professor of research at the University of Pittsburgh, has been involved in the most important research related to corona. University and police say he was shot at his home over the weekend.
The Rose Police Department said Dr. Bing Liu was found dead in his home with gunshot wounds to his head, neck, and body. Police say the man who killed Liu returned to his car and shot himself.
Police believe the two knew each other, but authorities said there was no evidence to show that Liu was from China because he was targeted.
He has been studying to better understand the cellular mechanisms of corona.
