New Delhi : The corona virus outbreak in the country is now increasing rapidly. There have been more than 5600 cases of corona virus in the country in the last 24 hours. During this time 140 people have died in the country. With this, more than 1 lakh 6 thousand cases have been reported in the country so far. According to the latest data from the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, as of 8 am on Wednesday (May 20), 1,06,750 cases of corona virus have been reported in the country, while the death toll from corona has also risen to 3303.
According to the latest data, 61,149 patients of Corona virus are currently being treated in hospitals in the country. At the same time, 42,298 patients have been discharged from hospitals after recovering from corona disease.
A senior Health Ministry official said that about 39.62 per cent of the patients in the country have been cured so far. The total confirmed cases also include foreign nationals. Out of 140 deaths reported since Monday morning, 76 were from Maharashtra, 25 Gujarat. From, 6-6 from West Bengal and Madhya Pradesh, five each from Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh, three each from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Telangana, two from Andhra Pradesh. One death each has been reported in Assam, Jammu and Kashmir and Odisha and Punjab.
Maharashtra has reported the highest number of corona virus cases. According to the Health Ministry, so far 37,136 cases of corona virus have been reported in the state. So far 9639 patients have been cured here. In Maharashtra, 1325 people have died from Corona.
This is followed by 12,448 cases in Tamil Nadu and 12,140 in Gujarat. In Tamil Nadu, 84 people have died so far, while in Gujarat 719 people have died.
