Plane crashed near Karachi Airport in Pakistan

A passenger plane has crashed in Pakistan . The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft fell into a residential area near Karachi Airport.

Pakistani media reports say about 100 passengers on the plane. In the video on social media, it can be seen that the houses on which the plane has fallen have been completely destroyed.

According to Pakistan's 'Geo News', the crashed aircraft was Airbus A320 and its flight PK-303 was coming from Lahore to Karachi.

Just a minute before landing at the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, the plane crashed in the Jinnah Garden area near the model colony of Malir.

According to reports, the aircraft remained in contact for one minute before the accident.

The aircraft is said to have 85 passengers and 12 crew members.

Many houses have been completely destroyed in the area where the plane fell. Ambulances are having trouble arriving due to the narrow streets in the area. The presence of large number of people is also facing difficulties in relief and rescue operations.

The Pakistani Army's Quick Action Force and Pakistan Rangers Sindh personnel have reached the spot to help the administration.

The PIA has released a list of passengers aboard the plane which includes 51 men, 31 women and nine children. Airlines spokesperson Abdullah Hafeez said it was too early to say that the aircraft crashed due to a technical fault and an independent investigation would be needed to find out the cause of the crash.

He said Air Marshal Ashad Malik would reach Karachi in two hours to take stock of the situation.
