Union Electronics and Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw announced today that India aims to train 85,000 semiconductor professionals over the next decade. This initiative was introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the launch of SemiconIndia on January 1st, 2022. The Union Minister's tweet stated that a new course curriculum has been developed, and two new programs have been launched - a BTech program and a Diploma program in semiconductors. These programs are expected to nurture skilled semiconductor professionals throughout the engineering ecosystem in India.

On January 1st, 2022, SemiconIndia was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with the goal of training 85,000 semiconductor professionals in India over the next decade. The Union Minister announced on Twitter that a new course curriculum has been developed to support this initiative, and two new programs have been launched by the AICTE within the Education Ministry - a BTech program and a Diploma program in semiconductors.
